OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Safia received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science & Government from Queens College, a Master’s degree in Health Administration from University of Phoenix, and a Doctorate of Occupational Therapy from New York Institute of Technology. She is passionate about working with the older adult population, and completed a doctoral research study on the topic of social participation and leisure engagement for older adults.

Safia implements a holistic, client-centered approach using therapeutic use of self when treating patients, to ensure that they receive the optimal level of care. Safia was born and raised in New York, and spent her elementary school years in Bayside, Queens. During her free time, she enjoys going for walks, reading, and spending quality time with family and friends. Fun fact: she is a second degree brown belt in Tae Kwon Do!
