I’ve been doing “Cardio Hip Hop” and taking Zumba classes for a while. One day, I woke up with pain in my ankle which would not go away. So I stopped my classes, went to my podiatrist, who told me (as usual) that there is nothing further he can do, other than prescribe orthotics and give me anti-inflammatory meds. My orthopedist said there is nothing he can do…go see a podiatrist. My podiatrist said, “maybe some PT would help.” So, I met Tom at the PT Doctor. He was nice. He was professional. Tom gave me some exercises I didn’t like to do. He did his manual work on my ankle. I had to do more leg exercises..literally a pain. I continued with both seeing Dr. Tom, doing exercises at PT and at home. Now I am better. Almost as good as new. I have to buy new “ orthopedically correct” sneakers. Then I am going back to class, where I try to keep up with people a lot younger than me. What worked for me? A positive attitude. Persistence. Exercise. Dr. Tom. -Margarita L.
