Bad Weather is Coming… I Can Feel It!
Halloween has just passed, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. That means winter isn’t very far!
Sure! Without a doubt, bad weather causes more pain. But what can we learn from that? Is there something more we can do other than moving to Florida or Arizona?
Our bones don’t change during barometric pressure changes, nor do hard structures like cartilage within the joints. So what changes? If you imagine your body’s joints as a self contained compartment and the barometric pressure being higher than the pressure inside the joint, then you can imagine the walls of the joint being pushed closer together. This will create less area for movement and we will feel stiffness and pain.
Also, our Automatic Brain and Nervous System is constantly receiving data through our 5 senses and from inside our bodies, which causes our bodies to react automatically to our environment. On sunny days we feel better, rejuvenated and energized. Our muscles can relax because we feel better. Bad weather days make us feel some degree less than that, so our muscle tension is slightly elevated. More tension in our muscles means more restricted movement and more pain.
You can’t change the weather … however…you can change the pattern of your Automatic Brain, which will have you live with less pain. Get the automatic reactive part of your brain working for you and not against you. Its just requires changing the pattern.
